World’s First Underwater Car
In July 2023, a team of commercial divers and technologists succesfully drove a subsea-engineered electric converted old Landcruiser across Darwin Harbour, in the Northern Terriority of Australia

The 7km crossing, 30m deep at its peak, was the longest and deepest underwater drive by any car in history. (That is except for the first attempt 40 years earlier with a diesel landcruiser.)

The car is called Mudcrab - it’s a 1978 Toyota Landcruiser modified for the feat
